These can be a little easier to arrange as it doesn’t involve practice teaching itself. Observation hours can include watching live online classes or attending live studio classes. Wherever possible, we strongly recommend completing the majority of hours in a live group studio environment to build real-world confidence and teaching capability.
You will need to get your logbook signed off to demonstrate completion of required observation hours.
As part of the KX network, students are encouraged to connect with local KX Pilates studios to express interest in observation or practice hours. Many studios are supportive of trainees where capacity allows.

Practice teaching involves actively leading planned Pilates sessions while following course programming and safety guidelines.

There is no fixed minimum. Many students begin with short teaching segments and gradually build to full 20–40 minute sessions.

No. Practice teaching can be completed in any suitable environment. Approved KX Institute partner studios may also offer practice teaching opportunities.
Students organise practice teaching independently. An up-to-date list of approved partner studios is available via the KX Institute website.
Access to a reformer is essential for Reformer-based courses. KX Institute students receive exclusive partner pricing through Your Reformer.
All observation and practice teaching hours must be recorded and verified in the official course logbook.
Incomplete or unsigned logbook entries may not be accepted toward course completion.
